I need motivation

I've attempted MyFitnessPal a couple times with no success through my own poor will power and lack of self motivation. This time I'm asking for any extra help, advice, motivation I can get. I spend everyday all day at home by myself. I don't really have friends to exercise with or help support each other. I do have an amazing boyfriend that loves me better than I could ask for. But he's working all day. I wish I could afford to go to the gym, but I can't. I can't afford to buy healthy really. A few weeks ago I went to buy groceries for a low carb high fat diet and I had to return most of the groceries because it took every penny I had and I had other stuff to get. I try not to cook too unhealthy I use my crockpot and oven as often as I can. I cook 7 days a week because we can't afford to eat out. Most days I nibble one or two times a day and eat supper. My weakness is sweet tea. I hate Splenda and any sugar substitute. I just need a motivation partner to exercise with and just help lift each other with. I'm gonna be 41 in a couple weeks I'm tired of feeling drained all day for no reason. I'm tired of feeling like I don't have the energy to do anything. I don't consider myself horribly overweight I think 20 to 25 pounds and I should be ok, but I am extremely out of shape. I know no matter how much I want to feel better and I know it's pitiful and terrible but if I have to motivate myself I'm just gonna put it off and procrastinate. If anyone wouldn't mind being a motivation or fitness partner I'd love that.. I hope you all are having a good day and wish y'all all the best..

I've been exactly where you are at, so I believe you can do this! It is really hard when you stay home all day but you can still do it.
You don't have to go for low carb or fad diets. Just buy more "raw" food, less boxed & processed things. They may be more "pricey" but there are lots of veggies that are cheap & you can use for all sorts of dishes. Crock pots make it easy too!
Sugar is straight up my weakness too. I. Love. It.
I have been using Stevia for several years now & I love it too but ya know nothing beats the real thing. I recently have started cutting out sugar though in all forms, even fruit. I read I Quit Sugar by Sarah Wilson & it really inspired me. I'm not perfect by any means but I try every day to do better.
There's tons of resources on the web for working out at home with little to no equipment. Nerd Fitness has good stuff but you can just google it to find one YOU LIKE. There's apps for that too! I used to use the Nike fit app. There's so many ways to start & continue this journey. Don't give up. What works for some might not work for you. Ya know?1 -
I empathize with your feelings but you are talking yourself into not succeeding at making changes that will ultimately make you feel more confident.
Weight: Doesn't matter if you are short or tall.. we all tend to make excuses as to why we can put off the dreaded discipline of monitoring what we eat. Me, I'm tall so I can carry more weight before it is evident - so instead of having to take off a few pounds I have many, many pounds to pay for!! 25lbs for you at your height would be a lot so you know at your age it is in your best interested to get the job done NOW.. not when you are post menopausal like me... it is soooo much harder.
Food: You state "I can't afford to buy healthy" Sorry I don't buy that!! You may not be able to buy steak/meat for every meal but there are other protein sources, beans & pulses including chickpeas that can be made into nutritious casseroles with fresh vegetables, lentil burgers. Also its what you choose to buy... chicken portions or a whole chicken - use the $ cost per lb when selecting and you will be able to buy much more if you buy in bulk. And forget ready made meals or foods that are pre packaged like in marinades... make your own. Use that crock pot to cook up large meals then freeze portions for later. If your partner likes certain foods, by all means buy them but bulk out the groceries buying cheaper basic foods that you can make into meals for you... after all this is for yourself an investment in you to look and feel better.
Information: There is heaps of ideas for low cost food on MFP do plenty of looking and you will find it. I was reading & contributed to a thread from a broke student who was using foods from a food bank - there was lots of sensible and helpful information there, but its not going to land in your lap... you have to go seek and find. Use your local library or the internet for vegetarian cooking recipes... remember meat is expensive in both calories and $'s and not needed for every meal so be inventive and enjoy the time preparing these different foods.
Mindfulness: You may feel isolated but if you fill your day with activities that support your situation you will feel a great sense of accomplishment. I live in an isolated area so I know how that feels not to have a social outlet or friends to share exercise and motivation with... thats why MFP is a marvelous tool and you can use it to your advantage, you just need to be committed to be organised and pro active. Set up a time sheet for yourself for the days you are home alone this will create a sense of order so you include the things you like to do and the things you have to do to make the difference, and then the hard part is to stick to it (discipline) but once you are in the groove.. takes about a month.. you will feel better, less tired and be seeing results.
I would suggest you include Yoga in your day & some meditation as well... you can borrow DVD's for both from your library.
And finally keep active here, log your foods, join a couple of groups that you feel might suit you and send friend requests to people you consider are on the same wavelength as you or you admire for their success ...great comraderie is available if you want it.

Hi all I'm new to this. I have been struggling to keep motivated with exercise. I have bought basics for at home such as resistance bands but using them every day is the thing.
My job is a stressful one and often find I turn to a bottle of wine as a distress. I do not that is not good.
Weight well as my career changed over the last 5 years I have become less active and sit in an office or a car for the biggest part of my day. The weight has been a steady increase. Now I'm 3 stone over what I use to be. I have tried SW but feel that after my hard work I need to be nice to myself so have the wine and out the window it all goes.
I am going to start with a running group next week and hope to get some motivation from that. Been great reading that I'm not the only one0
