I've heard both good things and bad things about it however I would like to get credit on MyFitnessPal for all the steps I take outside of exercise.

I love my FitBit Charge 2. I think it's fairly accurate as well, probably not perfect, but better than nothing at all. I love the exercise tracking features the most, along with the heart rate tracker. I connected the FitBit app to My Fitness Pal as well and do all my food/water through this app and all my exercise logging through FitBit.

I love my Fitbit Blaze! I know it's not 100% accurate but I feel I get a better read on how hard I am pushing myself when I exercise! And that it reminds me to move a little bit every hour!

I've had a Fitbit Charge HR and now wear a Garmin vivoactive HR. I like it much better. It costs more... about $100 more than a Charge 2, but it's much more versatile. It has a large screen instead of just numbers and it also will get notifications from your phone. It has apps for tracking runs, swims, walks and other activities. (Yes, it's waterproof, which is a feature I really like. I can wear it swimming, let alone in the shower.)

If you can afford it and you're serious about tracking your activity I'd suggest the Garmin -- not the vivosmart, which has Fitbit like features, but the vivoactive HR smartwatch. If you just want to get started knowing more about your activity level then the Fitbits are a good choice.

Fitbits have a constant daily step goal. I'm fairly active but I don't take many very long walks, and I found I rarely got 10,000 steps or even 7,500 when I changed it to that. Garmins have a dynamic step goal that adjusts to your activity level. Today my goal was about 6900 steps and I made the goal, so the goal for today is higher (7042 steps). If you don't make your goal it decreases the next day's goal a little.
