Anyone else ever notice that the more people brag and gush about their significant other on Facebook and social media, the less likely they are to be faithful in real life?

I just assume everyone is unfaithful until proven otherwise.6

Nah, I'm not really concerned about others' relationships.
Also, I've mostly had really good, happy relationships. So I'm not so bitter about love.
I've noticed you seem strangely focused on it though. You a marriage counselor or something? lol16 -
That's true. People that always say how fantastic there relationship is and brags on social.media etc. ... There are cracks. I have been cheated on in past and he used to always say and tell people how much he loved me......yeah right lol.0

Oh hell no! Just an observation.0

Kids are different though. To me the spousal stuff seems like a smokescreen.0

Mrs Jruzer has a similar rule based on PDAs. The more you see, the more likely there's trouble with that relationship. It's been validated with several case studies.1

This' also why, I never trust the; "Pillar Of The Community" because no 1's that, good of; a person & they always seem to, be getting arrested for committing the; most heinous acts! These people've either a lot to hide, desire to gain trust to access victims with ease/avoid being a suspect and/or they're God fearing & thus're attempting to do enough good deeds to, be forgiven for their bad 1's; even while still committing bad 1's!0

You mean Fakebook. I don't go there, or do that. Much *kitten* there. Mark Zuckerburg would have to pay me a hefty salary to be there. Adbook FakeNewsbook0

No. I have noticed that the more people brag and gush about anything in their lives on social media the less I think of them and their friendship.1 -
I don't notice this. I notice some friends posting all the meals they est and the recipes. Does that mean they are cheating on their food.2

There is truth to that . They feel the need to tell the world everything is just fine and dandy . A few months later there is a solo profile picture , the fun fun time adventure updates stop and then boom the guy is friendzoned . Relationship status single . A month later fun fun time adventure posts are back with the guy that was only just a friend hahaha0 -
I don't notice this...but pretty much everyone on my FB is actual friends and family...I'm not friends with a bunch of randos on FB. A lot of us are spread out all over the place and it's an easy way to keep in touch and share pictures of our kids and goings on in life.1

If a guy is "unfriendzoned" he was never in it to begin with..0 -
OP, give it a rest.
Don't you have some positive cause you could expend some of that energy on?

So helping the poor, advocating for the homeless, working for equal rights, helping tutor some kids, cleaning up a neighborhood, adopting a highway, telling everyone to have a wonderful day online ---
None of these options are more preferable to you?1 -
So if I was to go on social media and trash everyone that means I really care right?
You all suck, and I'm making sure the whole world knows about it!2 -

I've noticed more single, bitter people trying to make sly comments about other people's relationships than anything else.7

Most of the married people here are flirting with others. And us single people find it amusing..as the ones who rave the most about their wonderful spouses are secretly messaging and hooking up. I'm not going to judge this as right or wrong. People have their reasons and monogamy is not a natural or happy state for most people anyway. It was simply an observation. I think it's a legit one. You may not. I'm fine with that.0 -
You're right, Joy. There's quite a bit of cognitive dissonance on MFP.0

There are some people who gush about their SOs, but how am I to know whether or not they're cheaters? I've never really cared enough to put a lot of thought into this.
This seems more like a dig at particular MFP members here, as you observe that some of them are married but "flirting", so you've made the assumption they're also PMing and "hooking up". I'm not sure how or why you think you know this, or frankly, why you care.9 -

Good call. She got that passive-aggressive for the win.
