Newish to the community, but not the app

I've had the app for a while now, but I haven't actively used it until now. I have had diet ups and downs since my mid-20s. Four years ago, I got serious and got back to my high school weight which I kept off for a couple of years. But I started getting lazy and slowly, slowly the weight came back. "It's only 5 pounds" I thought, I can lose that easy. "It's only 10 pounds" etc.

Finally, I found myself at my heaviest ever. So for my health's sake and what little vanity I have left, I've decided to get back on track. I've been actively using this program for about a week and have had no cheat days so far. For me, it usually just takes a couple of weeks of good behavior to establish good habits, so I'm feeling encouraged.

My only discouragement is just before I started, I hurt my back and have been unable to exercise the way I'd like. I have two energetic dogs I like to walk with, but walking has been impossible since I got hurt. I used to have a recumbent exercise bike, but my son broke it accidentally at Christmas. I'm waiting for a new one to arrive both for the benefit of the exercise and I've found that the recumbent bike helps with my back issues.

So I'm here, hoping to be an active member of this community to receive and give support to those who need it.
