Lateral Release for Knee Tracking Problem

Finally going in for (another) surgery on my knee this week. Had a (failed) microfracture surgery 11 months ago and the surgeon is now doing a lateral release to hopefully correct my chondromalacia patella/tracking problem.

I've chatted with a couple people on here in the past about knee issues, but looking for any experiences from people that have had the lateral release done. Most interested in what to expect in the days/weeks/months after surgery and at what point people could work out again.

Thanks in advance!

These are great questions for your doctor. Everyone's experience can be different.

I have spoken to my doctor about it. I am looking for people who have been through this and can speak to their individual experiences.

I had a friend have it done when I was in VA. Far as I know his knee is fine now, but it took about a year for him to feel comfortable doing any hard leg work.
