Today, was the first day I worked with a personal trainer ( this trainer does figure competition) she really good and really work you out. I love what I am doing with her because I learning the proper way of lifting weights and so on.
Now, that I have a good trainer and want to lose weight to get tone. I hear many people say you have to eat clean or eat less carbs.
If this, true does anybody follow a meal plan of the right foods to eat? Also, I hear people have cheat meal once a week. If so, how do you get thru the week of not binging into comfort foods another word junk.

This is not true. The only thing you need to do to lose weight is eat in a calorie deficit.
I don't classify foods as being "clean" or "junk", nor do I do cheat meals. If I want something, I fit it into my calories. Cutting some foods out completely can lead some people to binge on them.11 -
If you're lifting weights it's important to get enough protein I believe. Apart from that there's no one definition of "healthy". I'd say try and eat plenty of fruit and veg and beyond that don't worry too much. Carbs are not bad and treats will not hurt you.0

Eating clean means nothing. You have to correctly log your food, weigh solids and measure liquids. Eating at a calorie deficit is how you lose weight not by cutting certain foods from your life. Don't make things more difficult by needlessly avoiding foods.2

I think many people "clean" eat mostly because it allows them to consume more food for less calories. I also find it easier to track calories when I know exactly what ingredients I'm using and how much. I would be wary of cheat days because you could easily eat back the calorie deficit you made throughout the week. If you enjoy treats or pasta or (insert typical guilty food here) why not just adjust your eating around allowing yourself a cookie, cupcake, donut or what have you every once in a while. Or find "healthier" replacements to "naughty" foods.0

This. To lose weight the only thing you need to do is be at the correct calorie deficit for your weight goals.
Also, I refuse to label foods. It's an arbitrary process that can lead to a distorted and unhealthy relationship with food. I eat a varied diet of all the foods I like, I've just learned how to fit them into my calorie goals.4
