Question about weighing food.

I always measure my food out with measuring cups and didn't realize that it was actually inaccurate until joining MFP. So I ordered a scale today and it'll be here later this week! I'm really excited about it.

So 2 questions at the moment:

1. when measuring liquids, is the serving says milliliters do you still weigh it or is measuring it in milliliters pretty accurate?

2. For foods that are pre packaged as one serving, do you still weigh those or just log the calories listed on the package?

I use cups or spoons for liquids.

I would also weigh pre-packaged food as the weight can be quite a bit off whatever is marked on the pack.

A gram here or there wont make a difference if its out

I've had things off by a lot more than a gram here or there.... I'd rather weigh for accuracy.

The general rule is to measure liquids in a cup or spoon, weigh solids on a scale.

I weigh prepackaged stuff, and have found that it can sometimes be quite out.

Weigh solids with your scale, and measure liquids with cups or spoons.
As for prepackaged single serving foods, I don't weigh them. I suppose I might if I were eating higher calorie prepackaged foods, but I typically would grab a Lean Cuisine. Even if the weight is off substantially the calorie difference generally shouldn't be highly significant. In any event, I have lost consistently without doing so.

I test the pre-packaged stuff once to be sure it's accurate.
