I don't know if this is a common thing but recently I have found after eating I boat a lot more than I use to before I started losing weight, I have lost 2 st since starting in September and never use to bloat until I lost around 1 st. I notice my stomach looks huge after a meal compared to before. Mainly the biggest meal of the day for me. Does anyone else have this? Not too bother by it just wondering why and does it happen to anyone else?

You eating different foods? Could be an increase in protein. That did it to me originally.

Certain veggies can do it. Broccoli sometimes for me.

I guess I am eating more veg and protein. I am curious as well if it's because I use to have many small meals through the day and snack because before I began this journey I would have 2 breakfast's, a snack, big lunch, another snack then dinner and most days a portion of cheesy chips from the kebab late at night. So when I started for the first couple of months I would have small meals through the day whereas now I eat at 8, 12 & 7 with a snack between lunch and dinner so I have bigger dinners than before?

I think any adjustments to prior practices can have an effect. When you pick it back up, I'd expect it takes a bit for your body to balance it out. Do you drink a lot of water? That'll make you feel pretty full at first, but just keep drinking it. I'm drinking it a lot more often and found it actually helps take that overly full feeling away. Give it a little more time. I'm assuming you have a calorie target from MFP and are able to keep within it most days? Not be state the overly obvious, but eating more will do this too. :)

Also, are you drinking enough water? As you lose more weight and become more active your body will demand more water. i actually feel more bloated when I'm dehydrated and i go through water retention. When i drink about 75 oz of water a day, i feel great!

Maybe your stomach was big and bloated all day long before you lost weight. Now that it is smaller, you are just seeing the change before and after meals.

For me it was the description jemhh has given above.

I never noticed the bloat before because I was always bloated. Now I hate that feeling even more than I dislike the visual swelling.

As an unscientific aside: I think I physically feel the bloat more, for a much less bloat, as I have stronger abs than I had previously. This of course could be pure hogwash.

    Cheers, h.
