So for the last couple of days, we've been on a mission to help my grandma find a nice dress blouse for my brother's wedding. Yesterday we went to several places, no luck. Today we went to the mall and she found a blouse she liked. But then she made the comment that she also wanted to find some nice, comfortable capris and had no idea where they were.

So as my dad, mom, and grandma went off in one direction, I stopped a nice sales girl and asked where I could find some capris. To that, she asked me, "what kind of capris? Petites, misses, plus size?" I wasn't sure what size grandma wore but she did mention she might try Lane Bryant. So I said, "Plus size." She looked at me kinda funny and stammered, "well.......plus size STARTS at size 18..... Ummmm.... are you .... ummmm... you don't look like...... ummmmm....so, WHO are you shopping for?" I smiled...like big time, cheesy grin, cheshire cat SMILE..... "I'm shopping for my grandma."

I USED TO be 104 lbs heavier. I USED to wear....ohhh...sometimes a 22 or a 24..... I USED TO HAVE to shop at the big girl shops. Not anymore. I still have the "fat girl" mentality. But the truth is: I NOW weigh 104 lbs LESS. I NOW wear a size 10 and a size L top. I NOW can shop.....oh.... EVERYWHERE! I love you, Old Navy :-D

I've struggled with self confidance and low self esteem. But that sales girl, she made my day. When someone else can look at you (and she was teeny tiny.... like a size 2 or a 4) and NOT see a plus size girl, well...wow.....that just made me realize that I'm NOT that plus sized girl anymore... And while I'm still 30 lbs or so from my goal weight, I've come a long way, baby! I'm gonna keep on fightin' the good fight :-)

That totally made me smile! Just lately, I've had loads of comments about my weightloss. One was, "Ruth, what on Earth are you wearing?" I thought, "uh-oh, do I look ridiculous?" My friend continued, "that top is FAR too big for you".

    Made my day!

That is a inspiration to hear!! I am having the same issue. I have been a 22/24 or 3x/4x for over 20 years now. I am a truckdriver and refuse to go buy a bunch of clothes. until I get to the size I want, so I have been hitting yard sales. I look at the tag and think hmmm, that 2X will never fit. Then bought a size 20 outfit from one sale I was at, got home, TO BIG! But that was ok, since it was $0.50. Then went to Walmart and bought a new outfit, MY FIRST ONE not in the plus size dep't! It was a 16/18, and loose! Someday we will loose that plus size attitude! Keep up the great work you are doing! Can't wait to hit the 50lb off mark, and then double it!!

Every now and again somebody will cross your path and say exactly the thing you needed to hear and what a feeling that is!

Congratulations on your incredible weight loss, you were obviously motivated and focussed anyway, but her saying that has probably spurred you on even further and that final 30lbs must now seem like a breeze to you.

    Way to go!!!
