The fact of, the matter's that; we're overpopulated & thus there shouldn't be, any expectation to be; noticeable to anyone! Imagine if you had 365 friends that, each had a birthday on a different day; your life'd be nothing but purchasing gifts, planning and/or attending them & you'd have to survive on, the 365 gifts you receive during; your birthday because there'd be, little time to; earn a living and/or do anything, else with; your life! This' why, life's a; popularity contest!

I'm only 19 but I've learned that I don't need anyone's else's approval for anything... fitness, life, occupation, etc. Self-love and confidence are extremely important, especially when it comes to getting fit.

Who cares what anyone else thinks? Ultimately, you should be doing this for you. When you push yourself to become better for YOURSELF and not anyone else, you will prosper.

(also, there will be people out there who will accept you as you are and push you towards your goals. those who aren't doing so aren't worth it...)

You, young lady have an excellent head on your shoulders.

That will wax and wane. I went through very self accepting phases but people are communal and short of being narcissistic at some point everyone cares about the approval of others.

The pride of youth is always strong when trying to define yourself. Of course you need to love yourself, and there are times when people just try to be mean for being mean's sake, but being too prideful to reflect on faults, accept criticism, and continually just believe you are awesome because you are you is where a lot of younger folks fail (And to a lesser extent people in general of all ages).

It reminds me of people who talk about their haters, like there is some injustice there. Fact is, if a lot of people are criticizing you for something, chances are you should look at why they would say it. So the reflection of what others think SHOULD be a mirror to find things to improve about yourself and be a better you as well. You should care what others think. Not always, not for everything, but often, and especially with those who you see as mentors. And as mentioned, that is a great place to seek validation that you are doing well in that pursuit.

Yes, it shouldn't be what drives you, but it is important.

But it does sound cool to say, I don't care what anyone thinks and such.

Life is too short for toxic people. Leave them to judge what they want and take care of your needs. They will either realize that they screwed up, or do you a favor and leave you alone. Sometimes it's hard to shed these people, but once you do, the freedom is amazing. Be YOU.
