Am I eating right

Hi all. Just bit of advice please. I lost some weight last year with a trainer an used this to track me. My macros were 40% protein n carbs and 20% fats. I'm back on it again as need to shift more weight.. my main meals are pretty healthy as are snacks to an extent but what I wonder is can you eat pretty much as you want snack wise as long as the fats, carbs n cals are low or should it just be super healthy stuff? Eg. I've been having 10 cal pots of jellies? Protein mug cakes. Protein bars. They taste so good I worry I shouldn't eat them! Thanks.

Are you tracking your food? You can adjust your macros to where you want them in you settings and then you will be set up to track.
The best way to get started is to track a few days and see how many calories you are eating...all of those little things add up quickly. Then you might need to swap out some of your snacks for lower calorie options.0 -
As long as you are accurate with your weighing and tracking, you can eat what you please. All that is needed to lose weight is a calorie deficit.
Macro split is up to the individual.1 -
Thank you.. yeah I'm tracking everything I eat. I weight it all too. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't jeopardising myself.
When you weigh chicken to track it do you go with raw or cooked weight? Same with pasta?0 -

I go with raw/dry weight (pre-cooking) as I think it's more accurate.
Remember, your % split has nothing to do with calories. You could eat that split at 1000 cals or 3000 cals. Try and aim for at least the minimums for protein and fat, then do what you like with the rest of your cals.0 -
Yes - if it fits your macros it's good to go! Sometimes I'll be busy during the day and won't eat much and then I can have ice cream and chips at night lol. Still losing weight :-) Just as long as you're tracking it all accurately!0

You may want to look at your macro split. If you are comfortable eating like that, do continue, but if not, you're likely to burn out. 20% fat seems very low and 40% protein quite high. You can eat anything you like as long as you stick to your calorie goal, variety is important, and a balanced diet is usually easier to stick to.0
