So my friend used to be fat at 185lbs and she's same height as me 5'1. She lost all the weight and is now 125lbs. I've seen her in a bikini and she's not built but she looks decent. I asked her what she did and she said she just walked a whole lot, every single day. I'm 5'1 and 165 (my highest was 333) so my question is, can I do hardcore walking to lose the rest for the weight or am I going to actually work out at a gym? I know to tighten things up I have to lift and do extra things. My extra skin is too much, going to have extra skin removal this year and after that's gone I will definitely start lifting and all that good stuff. So for now, I just want to shed the remainding weight. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you. But seriously I have like 30lbs worth of extra skin lol nothing can fix that but surgery

As others will tell you, weight loss is strictly from consuming fewer calories than you burn. It doesn't matter whether that calorie deficit is from moving more, or from eating less. Makes sense? If you choose to walk a lot, note that doing too much too soon has injured people.
Only thing i'll add is that some of the loose skin may snap back on its own within 2-3 years of losing the weight.1 -
It's been 2 years and only getting worse lol if I posted pictures, people would vomit or have nightmares... 168lbs lost, it's a hell of a lot of skin0

Your friend started at 185 pounds, not at 333. Sadly, for us who started at 300+ pounds, extra skin is pretty much a given in most cases. Lifting would do little to help that. Yes, it would partially fill up some of the skin in some areas, but not as much as you would think for women, unless you walk all flexed all the time. if most of your skin is on your stomach, chances are lifting would do very little for that. Now, you can lose weight without a gym limiting your exercise to walking if that's what you enjoy, sure, but some people like the way lifting makes them look and feel, even with the extra skin.
As you've probably already found out, weight loss is a function of calories. Exercise can help make dieting easier or keep your dieting interesting, but the benefits mostly have little to do with dieting. Just pick an exercise you enjoy and commit to it, regardless of what it is.0 -
You aren't her, your results probably won't be the same.0
