Well tomorrow is it... Tomorrow is the day I do my first weigh in. I'm nervous, but hopeful. I know that it is going to take some time for me to see progress, but I can't help but hope that I'm down 3 or more lbs. I know the reality of dieting, and I know it doesn't happen over night. I know it's a long process. I have struggled with my weight since I was little. I have always been over weight. I haven't seen under 200 pounds since 6th grade, and I have been out of school for 4 years now! I have dieted several times. I have constantly heard that I am overweight or they say the word obese. I hate that word! I hate that THAT is how I'm seen. So going back to my main topic of my weigh in.. I'm scared that I am going to discourage myself if I haven't lost even a pound.. I want this so bad, but so many times I have failed! I know I can do it.

You got this girl! Don't be discouraged or nervous. Whatever happens, accept and keep pushing. You can add me if you like!

Discouragement comes for sure but there is hope, I've only been here 2 weeks and I kept weighing myself everyday and saw nothing even though I'd been exercising and counting calories like crazy and then only yesterday the scale number changed and I lost 2kg.

I weigh almost every day too...but log only once a week. I think weighing every day helps me see foods that cause me to retain water (and not show good results on the scale). So now...I won't weight after a beef eating day, for some reason beef makes me retain water for a day or two.

You should take some measurements too so further down the road those can be secondary motivators. You can do this...If you have been tracking well and staying under your MFP calories, and drinking enough water, you should see a good result! If you don't...I would try to look at my last week's diary through some real honest eyes....were there days that you didn't track well, that maybe you ate more than you thought?

Either way...keep moving forward in your journey to good health and away from that horrible "O" word! I'm with you...I think I just got comfortable-ish with the word "fat" or overweight and they throw out the other. Yikes!

Let us know how it goes- even if it's less than your hope, press on. If it's more than you hoped, press on too. No excuses :)

I got clear of the 200s last fall, and it feels good even though I've got much more to go. I was happy when I moved out of the "obese" category - next goal to get in the normal range. Keep at it.
