Staying on track isn't about eating perfectly 100% of the time. You'll slip up and have set backs but that's just human. It's how you react to those set backs that will keep you on track. Set yourself a plan and stick to it as much as you can. Don't try to go extreme, just see this as a lifestyle change and allow room to enjoy the odd treat here and there. Don't beat yourself up and you'll get there  eventually it'll become routine and you wont even bat an eyelid.

I agree with @indiacaitlin and @mij140 if you try and set your calories too low you'll probably get into a bit of a cycle of getting the weight off, going back to eating normally and it starts creeping on again. I have been in that vicious cycle for years. Now I've decided to go slow as steady and focus more on changing my lifestyle as a whole but manageably, if I want to treat myself to something like a takeaway or some chocolate I have it but I factor it in to my weekly meal plan (I'm now on week 7, I'm not starving, I'm working out more and I'm losing weight steadily) and have smaller meals the rest of that day and increase my workouts accordingly.

There's some good advice from those ladies .. and I can add that after about 60+ years after being on diets for quite a lot of the time, nobody is able to keep to it 100% of the time and those days where the odd biscuit or cake happen to be eaten it's not the end of the world!
I have found that I can adjust my eating plan to include those things without making it a failed day.
All the best to you and I hope you reach your goal very soon. :)
