Questions regarding WLS

Hi all!
I've always been heavy, and I've been going up and down on the scale for decades. Last year I had a baby, and although I didn't gain that much during the pregnancy (19 lbs), and after I had the baby I actually lost some, but 4 months after I had gained 40 lbs! I am now the heaviest I ever was and I really can't deal. I have a friend at work who was as heavy as I am now and had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy and lost 100 lbs. She looks great, but still needs to lose a little weight. I am so inspired by her. The reason I want to do VSG is because of the results, my own health, and future pregnancies. I am 37 and we might like another child. I have great health insurance and a BMI of 45, which I believe will get me on the table faster, (right now I'm aiming for around Memorial Day). So *if* I get the surgery in May, 2017 and they say to wait 18 months for a pregnancy, that will put me at November 2018, which means I'd be 38. I had a perfectly normal, healthy pregnancy even though everyone wanted to make a big deal because of my weight, but there were no problems EXCEPT at birth (greatly impacted by my weight and core weakness!) but everything was great. I have major back and neck pain that is caused by degenerative disk situations and low core/body muscle. I *love* working out and being healhty, but with the baby, my full time job, and a house to run it's not easy. I do find time sometimes to work out but there is no way I could do it consistently enough with my structural issues and time constraints.
This is all background to my questions:
1. What is recovery like? I have a 5 month old baby, and in May he will be 9 months old. He is over 16 lbs now. He is a big baby. I know I will not pick him up for 2 weeks, but for 8 weeks? I don't think I'll be able to not pick him up. Any advice? Any relevant experience?
2. I am the main "chef" in my house, and I make whatever is easy. How did you adjust to it?
3. Do you work at an office? Is the office environment hard? I feel like it would be difficult.
4. Did you have a child after? How long after? Was it difficult to lose the weight?
5. How did you get your spouse on board? My spouse said he was not excited about it.
Thank you if you got this far! PLEASE feel free to add me if you like. I am so excited to hopefully be starting this journey!
