I see we have similar goals....I'm aiming to lose 75 lbs. I lost 83 lbs in the past but gained 75 lbs back.
Back then, I started with 1 hour of cardio 6 days a week along with about 30 mins of strength training twice a week. That worked great for me. When I lost the 83 lbs, I didn't have loose or saggy skin anywhere except in my upper arm area. (I did not like the upper body strength training) For cardio I mostly walked, jogged, and then ran when I was able to. I did the stair climber and elliptical for cardio as well. This time I plan on taking a very similar approach...only increase my upper body strength training to help prevent the loose skin in the future.

I went to my doctor and she told me that I should do 30 minutes of cardio and little to no strength training because that won't help me right now. She said to do this 6 days a week and that it is the best way to lose weight at my weight. I feel like that's not enough and I know she's a doctor, but I would just like a second opinion. I'm currently 260. I would like to drop about 70 pounds for many reasons. I wanted to do an hour of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training 3-4 days a week, but I was shot down and told that would be ineffective and that I shouldnt focus on strength training until I lost enough weight. Should I carry on with my workout plan or listen to her? I have no health conditions that limit me from doing anything.

Those extra 70 pounds, they took a long time to come on, didn't they? So they'll take a long time to come off, too. But you were able to gain them, which means you're able to lose them.
