So I've read that your brain needs NP-Y to start the day, as far as I can tell that's carbs. My problem is that this tells my brain I need bread or grains but I know fruit and veggies have carbs as well. Does anyone have any tips or information on a healthy breakfast that isn't always toast with pb but is still nutritionally sound?

Left overs - dinner for breakfast ie roasted veg and protein.
Oats - with berries, fav fruits, yogurt, chia seeds etc.
Toast topped with eggs and bacon.
Smoothie - with a mix of fruits, veg, flax seeds, PB, and a yogurt instead of milk, perhaps try some other milks like almond, coconut etc.
Any fruits you like and cottage cheese.
Toast or bun topped with saute mushrooms over cottage cheese, cream cheese.
Frittata with any veg, meat, cheese combo.

Pretty much anything you fancy can be breakfast it doesn't have to be boring or traditional breakfast foods.

Just eat food. Don't overcomplicate it.

Your brain needs neuropeptide Y all the time but it's a neurotransmitter produced in neurons in the hypothalamus, it isn't something you're going to get from your diet. It acts as a hunger signal, but it isn't specific to carbs, eat what you want for breakfast and try to meet your caloric and macro goals and you'll be fine.

    I think you're overthinking this.
