Hey everyone! This may be the stupidest question so I apologize in advance, haha! I like taking c4 preworkout for the energy it gives me for the workout I'm about to do. My question is, is it better to workout without a preworkout? Like, by drinking the PW am I just burning what I just drank instead of burning body fat or glucose or whatever? So if I were to workout without the PW, my body would be pulling energy from my fat stores instead? I may be overthinking by I just wanted to make sure I was doing everything right. Thanks!

If you are consuming the pre-workout in isolation (just mixed with water) than the "energy" you get from a pre workout is mainly from caffeine and supposedly from a few other vitamins and supplements thrown in. It's almost completely calorie free. I believe C4 has 5 calories a serving. The calories you are burning from a workout are still coming from your fat and glycogen stores. If the pre-workout is making you workout with more intensity and/or for longer than you are burning more calories than if you didn't take it.
