Supplement experiences

Hey all,
I've just been thinking about how much money i must have spent on supplements when i was younger and was wondering has anyone came across a supplement that actually works.
In my mind supplements have very limited effectiveness, the only things which do actually made a substantial difference are illegal (not through experience of usage)
Supplements that i feel are of most benefit are Creatine , BCAA's and fish oils. Protein powders are convenient of course however you can probably get the same benefit from eating a chicken breast.
The amount of people who try all different types of crazy wight loss supplements or legal test boosters probably see minimal results if any so i would advise to get your diet and training nailed down first and don't worry about the supplements and magic pills.
Anyone have any feelings towards this topic, agree or disagree? discuss x

I agree with you 100%
I really don't want to think how much money I've spent (been spending) on supplements. I do still buy protein shakes, just because it's an easy way to get protein into me without consuming solid food, because I'm already full from eating the amount I do each day. And it's less effort than cooking up some chicken, fish, steak etc
I buy Creatine, got to have my 5g's daily! And multi-vitamins.
It's actually not to hard on the pocket either. I buy my protein from MyProtein.ie, three 5kg bags + a few tubs of peanut butter for less than 100 euro is damn good. It's one of the better tasting proteins I've had over the years and it lasts me a few months.
Now one thing I regret spending so much money on is pre-work out supplements! So much money... Don't get me wrong, a few of them did work, BUT, the effect would wear off and I'd also be up to the A.M high on caffeine. This eventually led to bad sleeping patterns, ****ty workouts the next day etc. I think I mostly bought this things just for the novelty really. Thinking I was a badass in the gym after taking 2 scoops with my skinny physique haha!
But as time went on I realized that I didn't need them at all and that they are a waste of money. I haven't bought one in years and my workouts are better than ever. Bit of good music, that's all I need now.
Never tried fat loss pills. Even back then when I had no idea, I still knew what a load of crap they were.0 -
I spent way too much money on supplements and my collection keeps growing ... If anything I'll say I regret spending my money on GNC brand supplements <_<;
Only thing I don't regret buying is Melatonin and fish oil caps.0
