Need a new tablet

Kinda an odd request and I wasn't sure where to put it, but I need a bit of advice on getting a new tablet.
I have a 5-6 yr old Samsung Note 10.1 that won't take the latest android version. I want to replace it so I can use it on the treadmill with the 3 apps I'm using now. So, Polar Flow, C25K (Zenn Labs) and Rockmyrun. I just need wi-fi, I don't need cell coverage.
Anyone try to do this at home already? I'm thinking a Samsung Tab E (~$250 Cdn) but just want to know if it will run the software. Currently using a S7, but the screen is awful small for what I'm doing. Plus I want a new tablet anyway as this one is pretty slow.
Any help is appreciated.
