Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to my fitness pal. I joined to get and keep myself on track after adopting a new lifestyle after I quit smoking (6 months ago) and have been recovering from a partial hysterectomy and prophylactic bilateral Masectomy. My most recent surgery was a little over a month ago. Since July, due to inactivity and quitting smoking I have put on about 15 lbs, give or take a few. Not too bad, but I'm ready to shed the extra few and get back into good shape, if not better than I was before. I will be 40 this May and looking forward to it.
I'm a single mom with two children, but I have an amazing and supportive man in my life. He bought me a gym membership for part of my Christmas gift so we are in the gym working out together. I have never been one to count my calories, but most recently I have been keeping track which is great to see the breakdown of macro/nutrients I am ingesting. I'm looking forward to meeting a few friends here who are on the same path or just want to be supportive to one another. Thanks for dropping by!

Welcome to MFP! If you are tracking your food and staying under your recommended calorie goal and utilizing your new gym membership, you will see success! I also get to work out with my husband...we enjoy different classes at the gym...they are a great way to push yourself to do different things and often for longer!
I'm assuming you are recovered enough from your recent surgery to be working out...I look forward to following your journey to good health!0
