Cheating, but not cheating.

When I finish a mouth watering dish and see the little leftover streaks of delight, I cannot help but want to lick the bowl clean. To mop up and cherish every last drop! It becomes a temptation beyond the basal act of feeding oneself, especially under the circumstances of weight loss. The temptation of it all introduces guilt and pleasure into the equation. Combine this bizarre temptation, guilt, and the breaking of childhood eating etiquette's and I confess to feeling a bit, naughty, when I give in and clean my plate to shiny sparkle. In the end, it feels like I cheated on my diet, but in reality, I did not - for I know that the nutritional values listed on product packaging includes every. single. drop. of said product. They counted it all!!!

Case study: Tandoori Chef's Vegetable Korma w/ Basmati Rice. Looking at my plate right now, you would never know I ate anything at all. :-)

I'm that way with my ice cream cone wrapper. I lick all the ice cream I can off of it short of eating the paper. The nutrition says 90 cal. Some of those calories are stuck to that paper. If I'm going to count them, I'm going to enjoy them. :)
