I may have set my goal weight too high...

I chose my goal weight based on what I weighed before I got plantar fasciitis and gained about 70 lbs. I was fairly content with my size at the time. However, now that I'm nearing my goal (less than 15 lbs.) I can still pinch fat everywhere...my thighs (the hardest for me to lose), beside my knees, my hips, my tummy and my arms! That has to be more than 15 lbs. While I'm happy that I'm getting near my goal, realistically I think I will have to lower it once I get there. Is this normal? I just started lifting and I noticed in some of the before and after pics that many ladies looked leaner while weighing more or the same after lifting heavy so I'm not going to adjust it until I get there. On the other hand, I can't say with confidence that I only have 15 lbs. to go.

    Definitely give the weight lifting a few months! I am on month 2 and really liking the differences I am seeing, and my scale number is the same.

    Beauty of goals, they are changeable!! Not meaning just the number on the scale. You could decide your goal will be a lower body fat% or something like that. Good luck and WTG on your progress!

    I think you'll be surprised at what a difference those last few pounds can really make.

    I noticed more change in the last five pounds than in the previous 20.

    I agree that you need to give the lifting a while. It sounds like you would be better off deciding what you want to look like instead of a number. People can carry their weight in so many different ways so it doesn't really accurately reflect where you want to be. Even for ourselves, one number can look two different ways at different points in our lives.

    Very common. Morbidly obese people just want to lose enough weight to not die. Really heavy people just want to lose enough to fit in airplane seats. Heavy people just want to be pudgy. Pudgy people just want to be appear thin in clothes, and thin people want to be ripped. There's no way for a morbidly obese person to envision being ripped, so people set smaller goals to get them through the small steps.
