London based Vegan trying to cut out refined carbs

Hi everyone,
I have started my MFP plan yesterday and I'm determined to make it work. I was doing Weight Watchers last year an dlost 20lbs but then got sick with a stomach problem and stopped following the plan. Whilst there was nothing serious wrong it was a wake up call and I realised that I needed to take control of the way I was eating. WW is great but still allowed me to make poor food choices, as long as it was within a certain limit. I like that MFP shows a nutrient break down and I'm going to work hard to ensure I'm hitting those targets, and not just my calorie target.
I turned 45 last year and feel like I've been dieting all my adult life. I decided to set some long term goals and I'm now working to be #fitbyfifty using a five year plan. I set my target per week at only 1/2lb as I know I can achieve this and believe that long term I am more likely to keep the weight off.
Since my illness I have cut out refined carbs like white bread, pasta and rice, and since Christmas I have cut down on sugar and salt and no longer add either to my food.
I am also vegan, and contrary to popular myth, this doesn't automatically = thin.
I'm happy to add people who are looking to build a support network, my diary is currently friends only.
Looking forwrd to getting involved!
