I always see people talking about low carb & high fat or high carb & low fat. Why is low carb high protein hardly ever mentioned?

High protein is not beneficial if you want to be in ketosis, and the main sources of energy from food are carbs or fat. Protein is useful, of course, but for other purposes, and above about .8 g/lb (healthy weight) more doesn't tend to be that important or useful, although if you like it that's fine.

With a low carb diet it's also important to eat fat and get over any fear of fat.

Personally, I mostly don't do low or high, but moderate carbs, moderate fat.

Some do LCHP. Protein Power is a high protein low carb plan. I don't like high protein and as someone with insulin resistance, it won't help my health.

    Yes I do..

I think ketosis is over rated for anything but total body weight loss which includes Muscle, fat and water.

To look like you workout and get the most out of your hard work in the gym get .8 grams protein .6 fat per LBM you weigh and enough carbs to fuel yourself.

    My 2 cents

If you eat 200 grams of protein (800 calories) and your body is only capable of utilizing 125 grams or that protein (500 calories) the extra 300 calories left over will be used the same way as a carb calorie weather in a deficit or stored for future energy use..
