Split Workouts

Due to my schedule becoming busier this month, I'm thinking of splitting my workouts into two. In the morning I want to do weight training and in the evening cardio. Has anyone here tried this? Have you seen better results than when you do both during a single workout session?

I used to do cardio in between weight lifting exercises. My performance for weight lifting has definitely improved since I stopped doing that.1
