Ways to keep going after the prize

I been going through some of the threads and see many people lose motivation. Motivation is something we need. Unfortunately, we will not always be motivated to do the things we need. That is where effort and discipline comes into play. Many of us don't like going to work but because there is a bigger picture is why we do. Bills, family, vacations, or etc. What keeps us going is the bigger picture which creates an effort and a discipline to do so. That does mean you won't have ups and downs. Or even fall off at times. When you decided to create an effort with discipline, you can will your way through the times you don't have motivation because you have your eyes on the bigger picture. You will keep reaching for the stars. Here are some tricks that may help
1. Write down your reasons why you want to lose weight
2. Create goals beyond the scale. The scale does not tell you everything that is going on with your body. It is so much bigger than scale. You may want more energy, you may want to eat more veggies, and maybe you want to run after your kids or grandkids without being tired. Whatever it may be, look beyond the scale because it should not determine your success.
3. Use myfitnesspal or other devices that can help you. Use this platform as way to gain the knowledge needed to create a plan that will work for you and get you going in the right direction.
4. If you know you love to eat junk then maybe don't keep so much in the house. Surround yourself with healthy stuff. So when you do treat yourself, you will have to leave the house to do so which may can help cut down eating so much junk.
5. Patients, Patients, Patients. This journey does not happen overnight. The weight gain or body fat that you have gained does not come over night. It takes time. So will this journey. Also, if you hit a wall where you stop losing weight don't stress out. That just means you need to make adjustments by changing some things up. Change your workout routine, change up your diet by zig zagging (research if not sure what it is before trying it) may need more sleep, or etc. Just be patient and keep working.
6. Don't beat yourself up. Nobody is perfect. We all are going to have downfalls. Use that as an opportunity for growth and to gain knowledge about yourself and what works for you. It is hard enough to try to start this journey. Being super hard on yourself can cause you to become unmotivated and lose focus. Don't get me wrong challenge yourself and stay on top of yourself but don't over board to the point where it is causing a problem within your own self.
Just a few ideas. Keep doing you and keep up the good work. MAXIMUM EFFORT AT ALL TIMES!!!
