Hi everybody I am new to eating healthy. I'll give a little run down to help me decide if I am eating things I shouldn't be. I am 30yrs old, male, 5-4',165lbs. I am on my feet and walking a lot for my job. I don't exercise a lot (just starting to use a treadmill the last few days)

I am hoping to get to 145lbs hoping to lose around 1lb a week..

My breakfast always is 1sloce of 100%wheat bread, 1large egg, 1/4c egg whites, sometimes turkey or spinach, coffee with 2%milk

Lunch is either a salad with spinach, carrots, chicken or shrimp 4oz, broccoli, chickpeas sometimes. And a soup of some sort the change to much at work for me to list but most are 200cals and under, 18g protein and under, 5g fat and under

Now dinner is where I'm not sure I am doing well but I'll lost a few different ones I do.

Dinner 1- grilled chicken 4-5oz, whole wheat penne 1cup, red sauce, 1cup broccoli, 1/4cup maybe mozzarella cheese.

Dinner 2- crock pot roast 4-6oz, whole wheat penne 1cup, broccoli 1cup

Dinner 3-honey glazed garlic chicken 4oz, roasted potatoes 4oz, 1/2cup green beans, broccoli 1cup

Dinner 4-6" wheat roll, Tuna salad (mayo in it), banana peppers 1/4cup, dill pickles 1/4cup, spinach 1cup, WITH-1cup vanilla yougurt, 1/2cup grapes, 1/2 pineapples, 1/4 cup trail mix nuts..

Again I am looking for helpful info I'm sure I'm not doing the best but I need to make sure I'm on the right path. Please if anyone can tell me good replacement ideas I am trying to eat things I like also so I do t just give up.

Thanks for any advise..

I'm not here to discourage you from incorporating more healthy foods into your diet because I try to "eat clean" (whatever that means) as often as I can. What I am here to say, is that portion control is all that really matters when we're talking about weight loss. It comes down to CICO (Calories In vs. Calories Out). If you maintain a consistent caloric deficit (eating less than you burn), you will lose weight. So eat what you want, just eat less of it, and maybe move a bit more.

One of the keys to success in losing weight using MFP is religiously and accurately weighing and logging all of your food. I bring this up because in the list you provided, I'm seeing lots of things like "1 cup broccoli", "1/2 cup green beans", etc. Volumetric measurements for solid foods is not an accurate way of measuring your caloric intake and often results in consuming more calories than you think you are. So buy a food scale, weigh everything (including cooking oils and whatnot), and log it all in MFP. So long as you're staying at or below the daily calorie goal MFP provided to you, you will lose weight.

It sounds like you are getting a nice variety of lean meats and vegetables. It's not necessary to eat in a very specific way to lose weight. As long as you are logging accurately and staying within your goal you can still fit in things like ice cream. At first it could be important to you to cut them out, but if you want a sweet treat you can make it fit into your calories guilt free. It's a good idea to learn how to strike a balance as you work towards your goal.

How many calories are you eating per day? Otherwise it looks fine. Realize that if you eat nutrient rich foods for a good portion of your diet you can eat other less nutritious foods as well. There really are no foods that in an of themselves unhealthy. It all has to do with how much you eat of food, how many calories you consume, and how diverse your overall diet is.

My fitness pal goal is 1770 somedays I'm eating a few hundred under that. I haven't went over 1770 in 14days.

I am running on the treadmill at 3-6mph 20-30 mins a day, and doing push-ups and leg ups 6". I am trying for 7000-10,000 steps per day plus my treadmill.

I'm not fat by any means but I have pants and stuff starting to not fit and I've always weighed 148-155 now I'm 165..

As a 30 year old male it's probably a good idea to try to hit your calorie goal than stay a few hundred under it. You may also want to consider further body weight training beyond push ups.

Garcinia Cambogia is proven to only be effective when taken in amounts of 3x body weight. That would be hundreds of bottles of pills daily.

I know I need to hit my goal and not be under it and I probably will once I see results I'm an impatient which sucks for weight loss lol. I am slowly adding things to work out. I want a row machine next any other ideas?

I've never been much into working out always been active with hunting And 4wheeler riding. Sense starting a family I've slowly stopped doing as much. So I'm not sure where to start with working out.

There are body weight programs if you aren't comfortable lifting weights and there are lots of beginner programs if you have access to a gym.

Lol it sounds weird but because I'm so new at working out I feel weird at a gym so I probably won't do that off the start.. I wish I could I just can't get myself to do it. Not an excuse I'm willing to do anything at home just till I get more comfortable and more knowledable

Everyone starts somewhere. I was a 220 pound fat woman with no gym experience when I started. I spent hours looking at pictures of people at the gym trying to figure out what to wear. For the first six months all I did was walk on the treadmill because I was embarrassed and I had no idea what to do. I did a lot of reading before I started lifting. For the first three months I only used machines. I've been there and it gets easier.
