Hi
When cooking with olive oil should I log it in as a fat macro? I use it when cooking meat (chicken, steak) and vegetables in a pan.
Thanks

If I use oil or butter to cook with then I add the weight of the product I use. So if I use say a knob of butter for frying some eggs (best way I think
) then I will put down 15g. If all that ends up in the food or not, I'm not too worried about. Theory says it can't get more so I know I"m safe from that point...
That said - I'm not always that obsessive about getting exact weights and am happy with approximations. Whilst I know that it's easy for things to slip in and go missed this way, I personally have no problems.
Not sure if that helps?0 -
Yes. If it goes in your mouth, you log it. And olive oil is 100% fat, so that's what you need to log it as.1

I definitely log my added fats for cooking. Olive oil is pretty high calories.0

Yeah, you should log the oils and such that you use for cooking. Those calories add up. As you log it, the macros will be allocated according to the foods.0

Of course! If you eat it, you log it!0
