Body Shamed? Fit or fat?

Have you ever been body shamed? I thought that would be history after I became fit but man was I wrong.
Before, when I was a size 16-18 US I used to get shamed a lot. Shopping for clothes was something I hated. Usually when entering a store I would get the "look" from the staff (the head to toe and back to head scan) then I was told they didn't have anything that would fit me.
Even when grocery shopping I got shamed but people would tell me if I was sure I wanted to buy that chocolate. And my dear family would often ask me if I was really eating what ever it was I wanted to eat.

After I became fit.. I hear all sorts of things as well. I went to buy a dress before Christmas. The woman that was helping me find my size gave me the look when I came into the store. When I told her I wanted a skintight dress to show off my hard work she brought me a size 12 dress. I looked at her and thought that maybe I wasn't as fit as I thought and the sizes were small. So I tried the dress on, then I stuck my head out and asked for a size 6 or 8.. She told me I wasn't a size 6 or 8.. and brought me a size 10..
Then I stuck my head out again... asked for a size 6 or 8
She told me I wasn't a size 6 and brought me an 8
Then I stuck my head out again and asked for a size 6
She brought me a size 6
Then I had to stick my head out again and ask for a size 4 that fit perfectly.
Each time I asked for a smaller size her mood changed and she became ruder and ruder towards me.

Today I went to buy new jeans.. I tried on a size 6 and it was a bit to big. So I asked the lady if she had any size 4 jeans.. the answer: "If you want those sizes you're gonna have to go to the children stores" then she spun around, stuck her nose up the air and walked off..

I ended up in a high quality fashion store, spending way to much money on a pair of jeans but at least the service was good and I walked out feeling good about myself, not worse.

WOW Haters are gonna hate!!! So sad. Hold your head a little higher and tell them "Don't hate because I look fabulous and you don't!!!"

Shopping can be a horrid experience no matter what your size. I hate clothes shopping with a passion whether I am at best weight or heaviest. Sorry you had such a snotty person to deal with, she was just jealous because she doesn't have your body and that you could rock a size 4.

OMG that's horrible sorry the sales people were jerks. I've had sales person smirk once when I grabbed a pencil skirt she thought was too big for me. Sorry I have skater thighs...xs even s don't stand a chance against those

I don't know the, customs of; your country's. Is it customary and/or required, to ask & be helped or do you as I here in the States've the, option to search a rack yourself for; what you desire to try on? If/when possible, I'd do that instead. As long as I don't rip, a seam it's no 1's business what; size I am here & I am extremely sorry that, you had to; experience that cruelty! ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) <3

You can find your size yourself but once you get into a fitting room they're supposed to help you @DeficitDuchess

hehe cheers guys. It's ok though. I'd rather be shamed for being small than being big. Easier to deal with..

@Cutaway_Collar I never know when you're joking or not... but actually.. I went into a + size store to buy my mom a birthday present the other day and the ladies in there gave me the dirty looks.
That's the worst place to go if you don't fit the profile anymore. Next time, try stuffing a pillow underneath your shirt.. maybe they won't give you the glare then ;)
