Hey all!! I've been going to the gym about 6 months now. When I started I was about 120lbs, now I'm at 101! I'm not even sure if I'm happy about it...I've managed to get a lot of fat off but now I want to build muscle. My boobs have shrunk a lot bc of this, so sad... I'm setting a goal to reach 125lbs.. It feels like such a slow process but I'm looking for pointers here... How do I build muscle?

Eat in a surplus with adequate protein, follow a progressive lifting program, sleep/recover.
Be consistent.2 -
^Yup that.

How tall are you?0 -
Eat 300 calories above your maintenance, and keep progressive resistance.1

I'm in a similar situation. Spent the last year trying to lose weight, lost about about two and half stone and STILL hate how my body looks. Lost my boobs completely and shoulders and arms too skinny. Will now be trying to build up muscle0

if you lost weight it means you arent eating enough calories, its that simple to build muscle, eat over your maintenance calories and do a progressive lifting program,it will take a little while, how long depends on a lot of factors.1 -
Eat more, lift heavy things, make sure heavy things get heavier as you go. That's really all there is to it, but check the lifting programs thread if you want something more detailed.2

I was in a similar situation about a year ago, except for the boobs thing. Losing too much fat can be a bad thing when it comes to your hormone function.0

Do you only do cardio when you workout?1
