Would a mini cycle be the same calories as a stationary bike? I can't tell whether it has the same range of motion or smaller but it's a different angle.

    What's a mini cycle?

It's basically the petals from a bike but you can perk it in front of the couch or chair. It takes up a lot less space than a traditional stationary bike

Does it engage your core muscles for balance like a bike?

I would purchase a heart rate monitor to help you monitor calories burned. I don't trust the MFP gauge.

Or just exercise without eating anything back. Then the exercise is like a "bonus".

I would think it would be similar to a recumbent bike rather than an upright bike.
