Tired of some folks

I really am getting sick of people complaining about their weight over and over and over again and then in the same breath one day later, I had a cheat day, I had a cheat day, I had a cheap day. I had a cheat day. It's just becoming very aggravating to me. How are you on a weight loss Journey if every other day (literally) is a cheat day? Then complain that they are not losing. Hey, we all are human, either stop complaing or stop cheating. One or the other. Am I wrong? Okay I'm off my soapbox now.

Who are these people of which you speak? :huh:2 -
On a specific weight loss time line. I am usually not the one to complain about others. I'm a very motivated person. And definitely understand the weight loss struggle. Because I go through it myself. But come on already...... please for the sake of others people's sanity, stop it and keep it real With yourself. If you literally have a cheat day at least twice or three times a week how could you not understand why you're not losing weight. And then after you're done cheating you promising yourself that you're going to start all over. I don't know I'm just not feeling it tonight8

Sounds like people in my life.
Eta: are you talking about people on mfp? Because, you know, posting those types of things is an opening for comment. Of course we almost never do, polite society and whatnot, but you'd be well within your rights to comment or pm them what you're thinking.1 -
I would suggest that if these people bother you so much, you separate yourself from them to save the headache.11

Absolutely already done. I also will separate myself from the people who don't understand why I am driving today. So I'm glad you cheat everyday good for you you need not had to respond. Have a great day5

I feel the same way every time I see the phrase "fell off the wagon".
Apparently they need to be strapped in and forcibly restrained like an ill-tempered child in a car seat.43 -

Good for you... Seeing as how this is a public message board it is open for anyone to respond. Have a great day. :flowerforyou:15 -
LMBO, exactly. I am not trying to play like I am exempt from the weight loss struggle. There are times I can go a week or two or even three and then have a day or two when I'm not doing so well. People are only human. But it's the ones that really give you two to three paragraphs of why they are so distressed because they're not losing weight. They don't understand. What's wrong with their body. And then turn right around and talk about these cheap days and I'm talking about literally every other day. Either come clean with yourself or stop posting the madness. It's just as simple as that8

I can relate. I have a friend on Face Book who posts a great deal about how broke she is yet somehow she has a new designer handbag, or a girls night out, a cruise vacation etc.... then she posts about her weight and how terrible she feels that she just can't lose and doesn't know why yet she posts photos of huge pastries with captions like, "Fat girl gonna stay fat today!" Or huge piles of nachos, big fat hamburgers, huge drinks etc.... I want to support my friends but it gets hard when they repeat these patterns. And no matter how gentle you point it out you will be the devil once you do. It can be frustrating for sure.25

I'm highly amused by the people who think they cheated by having pizza or chocolate.

I get annoyed with the
"I've been eating 1000 calories a day for months and haven't lost a pound"
Taking a look at their diary which then shows how inaccurate it is, and that they are obviously eating way more than they think. so this gets pointed out to them, to which they reply
"I will never use a food scale, I'm not an obsessive anorexic. There's something wrong with my thyroid/my uterus/digestive system. I am NOT eating more than i think"
Then they toddle off after they rage quit Off to live a life content in their ignorant knowledge that they are "just meant to be fat"63 -

LOL!!! YES!4 -
I can relate. I have a girl at work who has been trying to lose weight for 6months. She talks openly about it and lecturing everyone about doing the 21 day fix and that's what would help her lose weight for Mexico... she did a 7 day fad diet, gained it all back in Mexico and now complains that she just can't lose weight no matter how hard she tries... the same day as saying this she will go out at lunch and come back with pizza, chips, red bull and candy.
Oh and to be clear... those are all not allowed if your following 21 day fix... so it's not a 'fitting fun stuff into calories' like most of us do.5 -
I am so glad that it's not just me. I try to avoid being mean or judging people at all times because I do not like to be judged. And like I said I am here to support others as I am grateful for the support that I received from others. But this just got under my skin so bad tonight that I could not do anything else but to rant! So you know what.. I thank everyone here for your support10

I think it's helpful sometimes for people to vent. It's good to get it out in the open. I think some people might learn from it. They might read this and have a realisation. They could be afraid to start a thread and be in the glare of the spotlight, so to speak.5 -
Wow, I'm the opposite. I get more annoyed that some people feel that it is their place to judge another person, especially when each persons weight loss journey is going to be different than anyone else.
Judgemental people make things so much more complicated than needed.22 -
I can't help it  I'm a Judgy McJudgerston, it's not a personality flaw, i blame my Uterus38
-
I use good judgement to help individuals.
I don't have any religious sort of guilt over judging people in general.7 -
Well...I had a response but it sounded a little snarky so...
I think that you just have to let people do it their own way. Hopefully somewhere along the way they will take an honest look at themselves and figure it out. If they don't...not much that you can do about it.

What I would like to say to those people is stop restricting so much that you feel you need a cheat day. Drop that kind of mindset and you will probably have more sustainable weight loss. Just eat the food you like every day in smaller portions. Learn to moderate.11
-
I've been on my journey for over two years and I have BED, so yeah, I cheat. However, I am aware of what I am doing to my body and luckily I haven't gained too much weight since hitting my goal.7

I refuse to use the "cheat day" phrase when it comes to my eating. Sometimes I make the choice to go over my calorie goals...other days...well I didn't plan on it...it just happened for whatever reason.
I am just not sure why we have to associate some guilt trip upon ourselves. Didn't we get enough of that when we were shoveling down the foods that got us to this point?

OP, the only advice i can give you, is to skip those threads. The moment you see the key words like cheat day, oe fell off the wagon, or the likes, especially from the members that are constantly doing that, i suggest you go to the next thread and don't read or respond to those. Obviously it's annoying to you, but they sure can post whatever they feel at the moment, within the allowed limits, of course, since it's the public forum. So don't aggravate yourself and move away from those topics/ posts.10

Sometimes it's relieving to cry "unfair!" and then move on.2
