K so I'm confused. If I have negative calorie adjustments enabled and my Fitbit is worn all the time, should I set MFP to sedentary and eat back half of the calories that mfp gives me for exercise?

What sort of Fitbit, and how long have you have it? They take a while to "get used to you".

I had a Charge HR and ate back 50-75% of exercise calories (with negative calorie adjustments enabled and Sedentary Activity Level), and I lost 80 lbs in 12 months.

However, I've maintained my goal weight for 8 months eating back 100% of my exercise calories back, so I've found that it was amazingly accurate.

Looking back, I could have eaten more and still kept losing weight!

I have a blaze and have had it for almost a year.

If you have any other questions, the MFP Fitbit Users group always helped me.

MFP will adjust automatically whatever your activity level is.

It really doesn't matter what activity level you have it set for as MFP will adjust accordingly. I have mine set for lightly active. All it means is that I don't get a positive adjustment until I reach my MFP maintenance.

Setting it for sedentary just means you'll see a positive adjustment earlier.

As for eating back, I've been eating back 90-100% of my adjustment since February and lost until I hit my goal in September and have maintained since.

This. I set mine to "active" as that would be the absolute fewest calories I would ever burn in a day (negative adjustments enabled anyway). I eat back all the extra calories on average (meaning I average a 500 cal deficit but have higher and lower days) and lose weight just fine. I find my Charge 2 to be very accurate for me; however I'm a chemist by profession so am very good at measuring and logging things accurately (including my food).
