Motivation to start, and keep going

Hi everyone.
After years of saying I'm going to move toward a healthier lifestyle, the doc has finally given me the wake up call I needed. I had always maintained a wight of around 70kg, however, over the last couple years what with stresses of life and stresses of work, I have gained 15kg. I definitely haven't been taking notice of the things I eat, or the lack of exercise that I have.
Today's a new day and I have set myself a goal to loose the 15kg/33lbs so that I can fit into my size 12 maid of honour dress in time for my best friends wedding in April.
This gives me 4 months - and I'm determined to make it happen.
Looking for friends who can keep me motivated who have similar goals, and any words of wisdom / past experiences / success stories that can point me in the right direction of achieving my goal.
