ankle weights?

I bought a pair of ankle weights yesterday. 5 pounds -- 2 1/2 on each leg

What is the best / most effective way to use them? I have been wearing them around the house as I do chores & even just relax.

    Be careful - they can hurt your knee if used improperly, too. Ninerbuff is correct with how to use them.

    Very controlled movements like leg lifts are good. Walking or running - not. The extra weight increases the momentum of the movement, which puts a lot of stress on knee and ankle joints.
