Enjoying my stay here so far.
I have been here before about ten years ago and I must say the database for foods has matured and is quite complete.
It really does make logging sooooo easy.
As for me it is probably the usual story.
57 years old
5' 11"
317.6 lbs starting weight - morbidly obese
Medication controlled Hypertension & Type II Diabetes
Accomplishments:
Logged for 30 days consecutively.
Lost 21 lbs in 30 days. (317.6 - 296.6)
Able to discontinue use of one of my two diabetes medications:
This is not wishful thinking as my blood sugar was dropping to dangerous levels
verified with careful monitoring and records.
Able to bring my blood pressure back to acceptable levels avoiding
my Doctor increasing the levels of my medication he promised me in a
month and a half if I failed to do so.
Strategy:
Set the goals for 1/2 lb a week loss giving me a huge calorie margin
so that I get positive affirmation everyday when I come in under that goal.
If I occasionally go over as long as I don't go over my top margin I am still losing weight.
Try to maintain a 1600 to 2000 calorie balanced diet.
Low carb induction of 120 to 140 carbs a day.
After testing I settled on 40 carbs per meal with an upper limit of 60.
I try to load most of my carbs at breakfast and lunch having
a 20 to 30 carb meal in the evening usually baked protein and a salad.
These are REAL CARBS as I don't use a NET CARB formula.
Best Wishes to All!
