Hi everyone. I've been trying to follow MFP but it seems as tho I'm eating more protein than I should. I've noticed I'm also low on the amount of carbs I should be eating. Would this make me gain weight? I workout 40-45 mins 5X a week with 15-20 minutes of strength training and the rest being cardio. Also any suggestions on foods with good carbs?

As long as you're in a calorie deficit you'll lose weight. The breakdown of your macros doesn't affect that unless they do put you over your calories. Many people here look at their protein goal as a minimum.

There are no "good" carbs or "bad" carbs. If you want something that would keep you fuller, fruits and veggies would help due to their fiber content.

Weight loss is about calories. Eat in a way that is satiating for you, in a way that helps you stay consistent, and finally eat in a way that will help you learn good habits for maintenance.

I don't think of foods as good or bad. Sure there are foods that give me more bang for my calorie buck. I try to eat more of those. But that doesn't mean that ice cream or chocolate are never part of my diet. I do include a treat everyday. That helps me stay on track, and will help me learn real portion sizes for maintenance.

I haven't been over my calories so that's a plus! I'll include more fruits and veggies in my diet and see if that helps. Also treating myself a bit more wouldn't hurt! Thanks @TeaBea @malibu927

For just getting in carbs without a bunch of extra stuff, I like rolled oats. I'll just make it with water if that's all I need, but my current post workout is 54g vanilla mpc, 144g oats, and 16 oz water. Just mix the protein and water in a shaker, dump over oats, put in the fridge and let it soak for a few hours.

I'll also add my Orange Triad+greens powder to the mix sometimes. Vanilla orange proats? Oh god yes.
