Nursing mother here, are there any adjustments that can be made for my calorie base and burned calories from nursing sessions?

Not a mother, but I think most add 300 calories for breastfeeding.

I once read in an article ( can't remember what it was called) that your body burns 20 calories to produce 1 ounce of breast milk. If you pump and know the number of ounces you are producing a day then you can kind of make a better guess at how much extra you need. It is usually any where between 250 and 500 calories extra a day. I found that I really needed to play with my diet a bit to find the sweet spot of losing weight but not losing milk. It took about week to find that balance. Start slow and don't try to lose too quickly, that can hurt your supply for sure. I also found that including oat meal and nuts in my diet helped keep my stash up while trying to lose weight.

I am still nursing my 2yr old and don't make any adjustments but for the first year or so of nursing I added about 300-500 extra calories to my goal to make up for it.
