Married, aged 66, retired, live in the UK, two grown up sons. My husband and I were the very first Mayor and Mayoress of our area when Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II granted our town Borough status.
One highlight of my life finding my husband and giving birth to two wonderful sons. Latest high was birth of our first grandchild in 2011 Before that in 2007 when, as the retired Mayoress, I was invited with my husband the retired Mayor, to Buckingham Palace in London to a garden parties to have tea!
My first grandchild, born June 2011 and doing well, I want to lose as much as I can to be able to be around for them. Hopefully a new highlight will be a record weight loss, we have to see. Second grandchild in 2015 and a third in 2017.
Most success I had in losing weight was 100lbs in a 12 month span over 1996/1997. But it all came back and more when I could not afford to keep going to Weight Watchers.
Have had a weight problem all my life, over many different diets and attempts I must have lost well in excess of 400lbs but sadly put back on all the 400lbs and much more so after all the attempts at trying I am back where I started, and worse off too.
I found the Calorie Counters site joined at the end of July 2008 and been trying to lose it all ever since.
MY MOTTO IS KEEP CALM, CARRY ON AND NEVER GIVE UP!!
By December 2009, I had lost 156lbs just over 11 stone. Sadly I did not keep it all off and regained a lot od the weight, Now heard Calorie Count is closing down so Joined My Fitness Pal about a week ago, started at 355lbs in 2008 and now at 272lbs so still a long way to go.
FOCUS ON SMALL STEPS, ON DAY AT A TIME, LOOK TO LOSE 7LBS THEN THE NEXT, small steps and never give up.

welcome anyone who wants to be a friend on this long journey... Christine MFP name WobblyexCC

Christine you will do this, it takes time just take one day at a time and make real
Lifetime changes. If you have a bad day don't let it turn into a bad week or month just gettight back on next day and keep on keeping in. If you have any questions just message me and I will try to help. All the best and very good luck.

Add me if you like! I started at 254 lbs (probably more. I was weighed at my physician's office shortly before a month of Jewish holidays that involved roughly 17 feasts, 2 fasts, and fair to say that the remaining meals were largely leftovers from the aforementioned feasts!) with cellulitus, lymphedema, poor circulation, and instructions from a vascular surgeon to lose weight to help manage my condition. I started after that month. And for the first 4 or 5 days, I didn't get on the scale, so I don't actually know my starting weight. But... that was 28 lbs ago, so I'm doing well.

One day at a time. Eating what I love, but controlling the portions. Getting a bit more active.

    This is very doable.
