Do you weigh your meat before or after you cook it

You can do either, just use the cooked or raw entry, depending on how it is when you weigh it: https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list?ds=Standard+Reference

(If using the information on the package it is usually raw unless it says otherwise.)

I weigh raw if cooking a specific piece of meat without bones. I weigh cooked when it has bones, since you don't include the weight of the bone. Also, when cooking a whole chicken or something, since obviously I don't know what I'm eating until I take it off the bird.

Personally I do afterwards, but I don't add any seasoning til after I've portioned it out for meals.
