Majority of jarred pickles say 0 calories for 1 pickle or whatever. Do any of you count it as more when you eat a bunch? I use it as something to snack on but don't count it since they're small and technically say 0 calories.

    Companies are legally allowed to say a serving is 0 calories if it has less than 5 calories. I would definitely count them, especially if you need to watch your sodium intake.

    don't think it's 0. I mean - a jar of pickles is a jar of pickles!!! Count the calories in whatever your pickle is - like - is it cucumbers? count that perhaps? They're not much calories, but I highly doubt it would be 0!!!!

    They do add up, so yes I count them. The sodium levels can cause some water retention too. Depending on how much you are eating.

    USDA has 12 calories for 100 g, so that might be a good source if you are eating a lot and your jar says 0.

    Look at the serving size too - that 0 is for like 1/8 of a pickle. The pickles I like are about 30 calories for the whole pickle. That adds up if you eat the entire jar.

    So the pickle manufacturers are basically just gherkin me around with their labels.

    You=Awesome.

    (I didn't think just clicking the Awesome button would sufficiently express the depth of my feeling on this matter.)

    One pickle is literally 9 servings. 9!

    Not only for the sodium, but the calories do add up in there. if it was just one here or there, okay, but if you are eating quite a few or large pickles, count them!
