garmin/map my run sync adjustments

Hi. My question is this....
I use my garmin watch to track my steps. Works well and I have negative adjustments enabled. When I do a workout in map my run it subtracts my steps for the day. Lets say I have 300 cals burned then enter a 200 cal gym workout. MFP subtracts 300 cals in garmin steps and adds the workout. I also get a dbl entry because it adds the map my run workout and garmin duplicates it. Any help on setting this up would be appreciated.

[1] step tracker adjustment: I just posted the following answer to someone else...re-pasted below: At least with Garmin, the daily expenditure seems to be calculated solely on what the step tracker sees - instead of adding up workouts and steps and then not counting the steps amassed during a workout--so it will then adjust MFP to only count as much as the step tracker saw. This isn't an issue for workouts that the step tracker will see such as running and walking (you'll get the credit), but anything not visible to the step tracker (even when logged with the garmin device using a heart rate monitor) will get nixed in the adjustment. If you work out regularly instead of relying on adding some extra steps to your day, and have MFP set to sedentary, I would suggest turning off negative adjustments (or not bothering with step tracking at all). Otherwise, it'll pull stuff like this:
[2] double entries: If you normally track workouts with your garmin device with map my run set to pull it from garmin server, make sure MFP is only linked to one of those 2 sites rather than both (as in delete map my run from MFP link list unless there are activities that you track only using map my run).0
