Endorphin wasted

I see some postings here about being "endorphin wasted". The endorphin molecule produced by the produced by the body has been proven to be too large to pass through the brain/blood barrier. We don't know for certain, but the "high" you get from exercising is likely to be caused for dopamine, norepinephrine or serotonin. Or some combination of the three.

Too science-y for me  I don't care where the "high" comes from, I just enjoy every second of it :bigsmile:0

Endorphins are released by the pituitary gland during exercise. It prevents nerve cells from releasing pain signals and causes more dopamine to be released. The high you get is from decreased pain signals and increased dopamine production, both are direct responses by the nervous system to endorphins.0
