Everyone has a secret recipe that they keep to themselves. Something they can be proud of that makes people go "Woah! Where'd you get this from?"
I want to know them! Post your favorite dish that you, or someone you know makes. Hopefully by the end of this, we'll all have some new amazing dish to add to our list by the end of the night.
I'll begin with my favorite smoothie recipe from when I was on a quest to perfect the Orange Julius.. Well, Julius!
Orange Julius Mockup Shake
I have two different versions of this beverage - The non-healthy best tasting version, and my own personal version. I will list both.
NON-HEALTHY VERSION
You will need:
3/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate
2 cup milk (whole or low fat)
1/4 cup white sugar
2 (or more depending on taste) teaspoon vanilla extract
Ice
Instructions: Put ingredients in blender. Congratulations, you're done! Good if you're trying to gain weight, however this isn't an option for most of us
HEALTHY(er) VERSION
You will need:
1/2 cup frozen orange juice
2 cups skim milk OR 1 cup milk, 1 cup water.
1/4 cup low-fat sugar free yogurt OR 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
1-2 Tbsp vanilla extract to taste
Ice
Splenda to taste (I don't like sweet, so only if others are having it)
The milk/orange juice mixture with the ice makes the frothy texture that we know and love. The vanilla gives it the sweet bite that hides in the background. You can always exchange the frozen orange juice with real orange juice. I have messed with this recipe a hundred times, and its pretty darn similar.

These are my SUPER easy curried rissoles -- serve with salad, chapati, steamed veggies, use them as patties in homemade burgers, whatever you like
I've also been known to make them bite-sized (like little meatballs), stick toothpicks in them, and bring them to parties as finger food, and there are never any left over for me to take home!
This makes six generous rissoles, or twelve smaller ones. I double the recipe if I'm making the finger food meatball version
INGREDIENTS:
600g pork mince (I've also used beef mince when making for non-pork-eating friends and it worked great)
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh coriander
1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh mint
2 tsp garam masala (adjust to taste)
1 tsp salt flakes
METHOD:
1. Put everything in a big bowl. Use your hands to mix it all up really well.
2. Still using hands, form mixture into rissoles (or meatballs).
3. Cook mixture on a heated, oiled grill pan or frying pan until browned all over and cooked through.
You can freeze uncooked rissoles if you want.
According to MFP's recipe box, nutritional info per rissole (if making 6) is: 242 cal, 1g carbs, 19g fat, 20g protein
To make a really easy dipping sauce for these, combine about 2/3 cup plain Greek yoghurt, 1.5 tbsp finely chopped fresh mint, and 1 tbsp lime juice in a smaller bowl. Ta da!0
