12 pounds gone! Almost halfway to my first goal!

I weigh daily and today the scale read 294. My highest weight in August was 307 (I've been tracking since December 30, and Jan 1 I weighed in at 301 - was probably about 301 on December 30 as well) and when I told MFP about my weight today it gave me confetti and told me I'd lost 12 pounds. My first goal is to get to 280. Only 14 pounds to go!

According to the whale penis thread I've lost a bald eagle! :)

Finally this is starting to feel real. Previously I've felt like this weight loss was just water weight, and that I'd wake up one morning and find myself right back at 301. Or even 307. I've been bouncing back and forth for months, so you can see my concern. But now I'm starting to believe. It helps that I've lost inches too. I'm down about five inches between my waist and hips since I started, so yay!

    Well done!
Keep it going! I too have been tracking since late December.
It really is motivating to see the numbers going down on the scale, isn't it? The success stories here keep me going too, so thank you for posting!
The very best luck to you!

I've already slipped up and had days where I ate too much. I just track them and move on, I know that in a year it won't matter if I had one day where I went over my calories by 1000. It's a lifetime of going over my calories that got me here, so if most days are at/just under my deficit, that's what is important.
