Ready to Get Fit

Hello to All!
My name is Alex. About 6 months ago I found out I was type 2 diabetic. At that point I weighed 285 pounds. When the doctor told me she said I had to have diabetes a long time due to some damages that it caused with my liver. Although I wasn't completely surprised because it runs in my family, I panicked and stopped eating sugar and carbs almost completely. With nothing else to eat, I started eating a lot of fats and oils along with almost nothing but meats and vegetables. At first I started to feel sick (which I later found out was known as "Keto Flu") but then I noticed that went away about a couple of weeks. I also noticed that I was losing a lot of weight and had tons more energy. Later on I found out that I was "accidentally" in a state of ketosis and it's a diet a lot of people use to lose weight and stay fit.
I've been on the diet 6 months and now I've kinda hit a thresh hold. I now weigh in at 213 pounds. My goal is to get to 175 by July 2017.
Just thought I would stop by here to share a little bit about me and to make some new friends.
My weight loss weaknesses mostly involve stress revolving around:
[*] The stress of my job
[*] Depression because of my failing relationship with my girlfriend of 5 years
[*] My undying love for carbs and my battle trying to escape for "hidden carbs"
