Is anyone else losing weight without a specific goal in mind?

Wazzup MFP. So here I am. 5'10" 163 pounds. Not fat. But pretty darn close to overweight by BMI standards. A little nervous about that.

I want to slim down. I have a picture of my goal in mind. I want a body like Raven Elyse (google image Raven Elyse instagram). She's an inch taller than me, with a similar body shape. I'm just about 40 pounds heavier.

The thing is, I don't have a specific body weight in mind. I'm not aiming for 120 pounds, or 125 pounds. I'm just aiming for slim, fit, and healthy.

Anyone else like this?

The thing is, I don't really care too much about the number of the scale. All I care about is what I see in the mirror. I want to see a thigh gap (I almost had one before at 137 pounds), a flat stomach (had one of those at 143 pounds) and . . . that's pretty much it. I figure if I have those two things, then the thin arms yaddy yaddy ya and all that will be there.

But I don't just want to be slim. I want to be toned. I want some abdominal definition. Maybe some biceps. Maybe some triceps. I want to be healthy. I want to feel energetic and strong. I want to be able to run fast and fat without getting tired. I want to be able to do 100 pushups and pull ups . . . all that fun stuff.

Ya feel me?

Yeah, my "goal weight" is predicated mostly on how I look and how my clothes fit. The goal weight I entered into MFP was largely an arbitrary number, but it does help in tracking my progress. I do weigh myself daily which, again, is useful for tracking my progress and tweaking my approach if necessary. But the actual number on the scale doesn't really matter to me.

I thought the recommendation was to weigh oneself weekly? Doesn't your weight fluctuate wildly when you weigh yourself daily?

I actually think having some arbitrary number on the scale as a goal is kinda weird and I see people obsess about it all of the time even though they're at a perfectly healthy weight and BF%...they just make themselves bat *kitten* crazy because of some arbitrary number on the scale.

You made a really good point, but I got distracted because of the little bat *kitten* crazy part

In my profile pic I'm technically overweight with a BMI of 25.8...but as you can see, I'm relatively lean...if I let the scale be my be all and end all I'd have gone nuts long ago.
