Finally got a food scale and want to make sure this is right when I turn it on it saids 0: 0.0 lb'oz so is 4 oz would be 0: 4.0lb'oz.

I think if its 4oz it should read 0.4lb'oz0

See if it has a mode button. You should be able to switch it to grams or oz rather than lbs.1

Its a Taylor scale I have it on lb'oz when i turn it on it 0: 000 -

Yes, 0: 4.0 would be zero pounds and four ounces even.
Check the maximum weight of the scale. Normally, food scales are about 11 or 12 lbs. maximum.
If the display is 0: 0.0, the pounds are to the left of the colon and the ounces are to the right of the colon.
Four pounds and twelve ounces even would display as 4: 12.0.
Four pounds and twelve and a half ounces would display as 4: 12.5.
Four pounds even would display as 4: 0.0.0 -

Yeah, pretty much this. If you're still unsure, weigh something you know the weight of (stick of butter, 4oz of water, etc) to verify.0 -
