Dumbbell advice

I have been meaning for a long time to get my act together and start lifting heavy. I will have to do it at home but that's OK as I have had classes so hopefully wouldn't do anything too silly. So I need to get myself a range of dumbbells and have been offered some set weight ones. I don't want to have too many different weights as I'll need to store them. I'm looking for advice on a good set to get that would cover my needs. I intend doing the dumbbell challenge but I've never been particularly strong even when I was doing bodypump 2x a week so may need to start lightish but I do hope to improve. By the way, I'm 5ft 9.5 and weigh 154lb if that's important.

I personally prefer adjustable weights. they don't take up a lot of space
(I lift at home) and I can add weight to them.0 -

That makes sense to me but having been offered some professional fixed weight ones, I feel like I ought to go with those. I do have some adjustable weights, each dumbbell has a set of 1kg and 2.5 kg weights so allowing up to 7kg on each.0
